DEW-SCENTED: 'Arise From Decay' Video Released
January 10, 2011"Arise From Decay", the new video from German thrashers DEW-SCENTED, can be viewed below. The song comes off the band's latest album, "Invocation", which was released on May 24, 2010 in Europe via Metal Blade Records and May 25, 2010 in North America through Prosthetic Records. The Japanese edition of the CD came with an alternate coloring of the cover artwork (sort of the "post-apocalypse version") and included four bonus tracks. The bonus tracks are two original songs, "Recall The Pain" (instrumental) and "The Death Of Common Sense", as well as two cover versions that the band recorded during the album session, 'Slaughterhouse' by U.S. power-thrashers POWERMAD and the track "Superstar Destroyer" by GENOCIDE SUPERSTARS from Sweden.
Commented DEW-SCENTED vocalist Leif Jensen: "While we spent a good amount of time on the European roads in 2010 promoting the release of 'Invocation', we figured it would be a good idea to collect live footage and have some of it presented to our global supporters. We chose the album's opening, 'Arise From Decay', for the clip as this track has become an important and very energetic piece of our current live set."
As previously reported, DEW-SCENTED has recruited Michael "Michi" Hankel (EROSION, HOLY MOSES) to play rhythm guitar on its upcoming European tour with NILE.
Commented the band: "We have known Michi for several years now and are certain he will complement the band in a great way for the coming shows!"
Added Michi: "I am proud to let you know that I am joining DEW-SCENTED for their upcoming European tour. I have liked these guys and their material since many years and in my opinion DEW-SCENTED are a real challenge for all thrash metallers. Their songs are sounding heavy now and will kick you right in the face... I am truly looking forward to meeting you all on this amazing tour!"
DEW-SCENTED's tour with NILE, MELECHESH, ZONARIA and DARKRISE, dubbed "Those Whom The Gods Detest - European Tour 2011", is scheduled to kick off on January 20 at Mega Club in Katowice, Poland. A list of the dates can be found on the poster below.
Rhythm guitarist Martin Walczak left DEW-SCENTED earlier in the month "due to changes in his personal life and lack of availability to move forwards with music at this stage."
Walczak made his final appearance with DEW-SCENTED at the Winter Metal Meeting in Leer, Germany on December 18.
"Invocation" was recorded and mixed at Soundlodge Studio in Northern Germany with producer Jörg Uken (GOD DETHRONED, SINISTER).
